My wife and I went to the Ranchman Cafe when we first move here to TX in Sept'05 and just loved the steak and the baked potato (which you have to call and pre order) it was the best potato I'd ever had. We'll we haven't been back there again until last week (7 Sept 08) when we had a friend in from San Diego. He wanted steak and we thought of Ponder steak house. And everything was great, except the steak. We had very fresh salad with the best home made ranch dressing. We had great fried tomatoes and baked potatos was great again but none of likes our steak. My wife and I had the Rib Steak and my friend had the T-bone. It was like it was pan fried and no flavor. All three were very tough, could hardly cut or chew them. My frind hardly ate his. My wife took hers home and we recooked it on the grill. She wouldnt eat it with out A1 sausce, they had some wierd steak sauce and it was aweful. Mine was gone but it took lots of work. I actually felt bad we took our friend there for steak. I hope they get some better meat and stock up on A1. I still have to give them a very good because everything else tasted great.
